New Member Monday with Quaint of Heart’s Danielle Drummond

Danielle Drummond is 22-year-old fashion blogger attending university in Toronto, Canada, and now her blog Quaint of Heart is one of the newest additions to the Lucky Community! Quaint of Heart has a really clean format and huge beautiful pictures, so if you like styling and accessorizing, check it out! Every post reflects Danielle’s personal style, which we were lucky enough to learn about in this week’s New Member Monday:

What first inspired you to start Quaint of Heart? Was there a moment when you realized you wanted to be sharing your style online?

I was really bored one day and I decided to start a YouTube channel. My blog was initially created to complement my channel and I called it “beau-by-danielle” because I thought it had a nice ring to it. In hindsight I doubt I was very creative. I was just trying to find out who I was and started to immerse myself into a completely different world of beauty and fashion that I have never ventured into before. I then changed it to Quaint of Heart back in July, and it was then that I truly felt that my blog would reflect my personality and individuality. I think I decided I wanted to share my style online when I was approached by a Style Guru on CollegeFashionista and they showed one of my street style outfits where I was wearing a very “colourful” thrifted shirt (haha!). I figured since then I would just continue to share what I liked to wear.

Which types of posts are your favorite to make: outfit posts, shopping updates, or your own curated outfit selections like your Fall Essentials post?

Polyvore is my best friend! I love to put outfits together because it shares my style and I get to show my readers what I (don’t) have in my closet! My next favourite thing to post are my outfit posts. I have a lot of fun shooting them and then it gets more personal because it shows what I truly like to wear.

Do you run the blog alone? Where do you find ideas for posts?

I run the blog alone, I am an avid blog reader and I love to peruse other blogs daily and look for new ones to follow and get inspired from. When I’m not doing that I am skipping through my favourite magazines like Vogue, Instyle and Elle Canada.

What do you hope your readers take away from Quaint of Heart?

I really just want to keep my readers entertained. I like giving them something to look at so I always try to throw in some personality and something individual in my posts. If I am shooting a picture of myself I try to do it differently, to somehow make it seem artistic (or less so). I guess at the end of the day I want to inspire someone to find something they love to do, and just do it.

What’s your favorite seasons for outfits and why? Dresses in the summer or coats in the winter?

Fall/Winter. Canadian summers are short, sometimes non-existent. Fall exudes rich colours and beautiful maple leaves and I feel like if there is any time where someone can be truly unique if they want to be, its during Fall. There is so much to inspire.

Do you hope to someday incorporate your love for fashion into a future career?

This is my back up plan. I am studying a double major in Ethics, Society and Law and Philosophy and my ultimate goal is to get into law school. I could do both because that’s where my heart is. For now however, I just love to blog, and I love playing dress up. My blog is my happy place.

What do you love most about blogging and Quaint of Heart?

Like I said above my blog is my happy place. I love that I wake up in the morning and look forward to doing a post, or look through other blogs. It’s something I am truly passionate about. Quaint of Heart is where I go when I’m tired of researching theories and writing philosophy papers. It’s a different space for me and it keeps me grounded.
