Flaorpill’s Vinay Jain played host this past Wednesday at another successful #startupfix event held at Culturefix in the Lowest East Side. Three great startups shared the main stage: Pledge4Good, Tidal Labs, and Onswipe. After those presentations, the stage opened to any other attendees who wanted to give a brief intro.
Pledge4Good’s co-founder Vikram Bellapravalu kicked the night off first and demoed their innovative fundraising platform for non-profits. In brief, Pledge4good has users: 1) set a personal goal or target; 2) tie the goal to a donation; and 3) invite friends/family to support their pledge. For example, you could have family/friends donate $5 to your favorite charity for every birdie in your next round of golf! Although that may be a bad example because I’m sure you would feel pretty bad generating $0.
Next up was Tidal’s own Matt Myers (Co-founder). After gracefully* calming down the feisty and jovial beer/wine drinking crowd, Matt’s demo created a lot of buzz and generated quality questions from the audience.
And last, but not least, Jeremy Bass pitched Onswipe – a platform that provides a way for publishers of all sizes to make their content and advertising a beautiful experience on touch-enabled devices via Web Browser. Jeremy won over the crowd with a great Ipad demo, insightful answers to tough questions about Onswipe’s advertising services, and dare I say FREE, high-quality, extremely soft and probably organic Onswipe T-shirts.
The next #Startupfix is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 – the three presenting companies are TBD. Registration at: http://startupfix3.eventbrite.com
